The region is composed of 16 counties, including four counties in South Carolina, with the city of Charlotte serving as the hub. Located in the heart of the Southeast, Charlotte lies within the southern Piedmont of North Carolina, along the state’s border with South Carolina. Charlotte is the largest and most accessible city between Washington, D.C., and Dallas, Texas. Career Pathway:  Success by Design
​

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools has committed to a terrific career advancement opportunity for excellent teacher-leaders to build capacity in schools by leading and coaching teachers or by directly impacting student achievement by expanding their reach to more students. This career opportunity currently exists in 32 schools in Success by Design and 9 schools in Project LIFT.  One of these positions can earn as much as $23,000 on top of regular base pay!

 

We are looking for educators with a valid teaching certificate that can show 2-3 years of high student progress, summative evaluation ratings above proficient for the past 2 years, and can demonstrate their ability to lead or work with a team of adults towards improving student achievement.  If you are not currently in the classroom, you can submit evidence of grade or subject level growth in areas that you support. CMS provides academic instruction, rigor and support each school day to more than 147,000 students in kindergarten through 12th grade in 170+ schools throughout the cities and towns of Mecklenburg County.  CMS is proud of its diverse mix of students who represent 183 different countries and various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. CMS offers an extensive range of magnet programs in 47 of its schools to nurture the talents of students who have interest and ability in specific areas.
