Jasmina Bratic

Senior Administrative Secretary

I joined Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools' Human Resource team in 2014, bringing with me extensive experience in customer service and administration.  Prior to CMS, I worked in a variety of administrative roles in Eastern Europe and Canada, including a Senior Administrative role at Seneca College, the largest community college in Toronto, Canada.  This experience gave me a deep appreciation for teachers, support staff and students who share their passion of education. While at Seneca, I earned a Travel and Tourism Diploma and a Business Diploma.  I am in the process of receiving my B.Ed. from Brock University, Canada.  After many years in cold and snowy Canada, my family and I decided it was time to warm up and we moved to sunny Charlotte.  I am customer-focused.  I am CMS.

Laura Buynak

Sourcing Specialist

I am from Poughkeepsie, NY, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Plattsburgh and a Master’s degree in Education from the University at Albany. For the following six years, I taught 2nd grade at a public school in New York City. Wanting a change in scenery, I relocated to the Charlotte area for a variety of reasons including good weather, nice people and all the activities the city has to offer. In 2013 I transitioned into the field of Recruiting. I spent time working as a Recruiter at a top Charlotte staffing firm and then as a Recruiting Supervisor at a Logistics company. I am excited to be working as a Sourcing Specialist at CMS because it combines my two passions – Education and Talent Acquisition. I truly believe that finding highly-qualified teachers is key to student success. I am a motivator. I am CMS.

Aaron Joplin

Talent Acquisition Manager, Leadership

I am a native of Caldwell County, but most of my professional career has been spent in the Hickory Public Schools. I began my career as a 4th grade teacher, and I spent nearly seven years in building-level administration as an assistant principal and principal before joining CMS. Before my roles in the North Carolina Public Schools, I served as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in China. I received my BA and Master of Arts in Teaching from East Carolina University. While working in administration, I received an Ed.S. in Administration from Appalachian State University. I am currently working on my doctoral dissertation at App State. I am excited to begin a career with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in the HR Department. I believe that strong administrators lead to more effective teachers and better outcomes for students. I am a leader. I am CMS.

Carla Stanback

Sourcing Specialist

As a native Charlottean, my roots run deep in the Charlotte community. My family has been actively involved in the rapid growth and development of the Queen City since the 1960’s. I am a product of CMS as a graduate of West Charlotte HS (proud WC Lion)! After college, I lived and worked in New York City and eastern North Carolina before returning to Charlotte in 1998. My career in education started as a result of me being a nosey parent coupled with a desire to become more involved in my child’s education. I started out as a substitute teacher and worked as a Teacher Assistant in an elementary school.  I moved into HR using my experience in corporate America as a HR generalist. Although my child is now in college, I want to provide other children with the same high quality education that my child experienced in CMS. My passion stems from my desire to find great educators like the ones that taught and nurtured my child so well during his formative years in CMS.  I am student focused. I am CMS.

Amy Sullivan

Talent Acquisition Manager

Originally from Florida, North Carolina has been my home for more than 20 years. My mother was a public school teacher and for a small period of time after college, I thought that might be my path too, so I entered the school system as a substitute teacher.  Feeling a bit out of my element, I took a trip to a staffing agency and that interview landed me my first recruiting job.  I later earned a Master’s degree in counseling which led me to work in Higher Education.  I have taught at the college level and held a variety of positions in career development, including directing a University Career Center.  My work now centers on both instructional and non-instructional recruitment.  I enjoy strategic planning and working to build a strong CMS workforce.     I am a visionary. I am CMS.
